The Dutch Left Atrial Appendage Management Day (De Nederlandse Hartoordag)
In Search of a Closing Solution
We invite you to join the first Dutch Left Atrial Appendage Management Day! Management of the left atrial appendage (LAA) has become an increasingly crucial component of both electrophysiology and cardiac surgery. New guidelines emphasize its importance, and clinical studies continue to emerge. But what is the true underlying reason for this focus? Is it as clear-cut as it seems? And in which cases is it unavoidable?
The aim of this day is to exchange ideas and experiences among surgeons, cardiologists, and referring specialisms, such as hematologists, neurologists, and nephrologists, on the potential benefits of managing the left atrial appendage. The day will cover both the importance of managing the LAA and the various methods available for doing so (pharmaceutical, endocardial, epicardial).
The program will be held in Dutch.
Objectives:
— Stay informed about the latest ESC guidelines
— Discuss patient characteristics and indications – who benefits most?
— Review recent advancements in treatment techniques
— Engage in case discussions between referring and treating specialisms
